Reflections & Gratitude

Through baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and countless visitors, St. James has been a blessing to many. With modern instruments of worship, strong leadership, and unity across generations, the parish continues to grow from strength to strength.

“All glory, honour and exaltation be to God as His people continue to enjoy blessings through A.C.K. St. James Gachie Ribarori Church.”

Beginnings (1998–1999)

In January 1998, the church acquired its first half‑acre plot under the leadership of Rev. Capt. (Rtd) Charles Muthuri. Soon after, Rev. Canon Charles Muthuri took over as vicar, guiding the young congregation. By May 1999, the first church council was elected, and the parish celebrated its earliest weddings and admissions into the Fathers’ and Mothers’ Union.

Growth (2000–2004)

The early 2000s marked a season of expansion. A new church building was started in 2002, completed through generous donations from members and well‑wishers. In October 2002, a Kiswahili service was introduced, broadening worship opportunities. By 2004, St. James became a full parish, with Rev. Francis Samake Kurende as its first vicar and a dedicated council to lead the way.
